An organization that operates independently of any government addressing any social issue or developing any society called NGO Non-Government Organization. There are two categories of NGOs based on need one is operational in which they do the actions and the other is advocacy in which they address the issue and promoting the causes. Most NGOs are formed mainly for literacy. Literacy is a basic right for peoples to learn and educate it is essential for the development of themselves and their communities. NGO for education is the organization framed for educating and solving literacy issues. Literacy leads to self-development, eliminating poverty, developing skills of individuals, and global improvement.
Non-Government Organizations are formed by the persons who are not part of the government they are also known as civil society organizations. NGOs always stand for making changes in the law, policy, administrative rules, and procedures to save the individuals or communities. They bring the stories of the individuals as a part of the evidence that needed to convince the policymakers for necessary changes. Generally, NGOs do not have any legal power to sign the disputes or any law for the government but they can be legally formed by a proper document under NGO law and act. There are many types of Non-Government organization which includes health, infrastructures, basic needs, education, environmental, and technical. Among them, education is the most important one.
Role of NGO in Education
Education improves the quality of individual life and also to their society. It improves knowledge, skills and reduces the poverty. There are many debates about whether NGOs are necessary for education since it is a social response government, private sector and NGO take leads for education. The main goal of the non-government organization is to ensure all children get education completely. Since NGO are non-government sector they raise fund from many donations, organizations to ensure the quality of education
First, they develop the need-based syllabus for different groups, and then they create a methodology to adapt the syllabus to the local situation. Then forming the learning material for the syllabus related to the improvement of quality and income generation. The Organization will plan the training schedule for the literacy trainers, leaders, supervisors, and workers who are associated with the organizations. Then they form many learning centers to combine learning with community development.
NGO’s which are formed for education mainly serves the following purposes. They undertake the out of school education program, literacy program, the income-generating program for illiterate peoples and communities through training and development of learning material and publication. These are the key points that NGO for education is most needed for the countries which are now in the developing stage. The role of NGOs is teaching the core values to ensure the people aware of the responsibility, spreading awareness, and motivating the children’s education. The organization has a clear efficient system for delivering the basic needs to the poor communities with lower costs when compared to other groups. NGO’s are supposed to serve the poor and public those who are in need rather than serving the private sectors.
